Trivia
- The film's director, Sri Senthil, is known for his unique style of blending intense crime thrillers with strong emotional family dramas, as seen in his previous hit 'Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee'.
- Kaalidas 2 is a standalone sequel, sharing only the protagonist's name and profession with the 2019 film 'Kaalidas', which allows new viewers to jump right in.
- The movie was shot extensively in a single, real apartment complex to create a claustrophobic and authentic atmosphere for the locked-building mystery.
- Actor Sibiraj, who plays Kaalidas, reportedly underwent specific police training to authentically portray the body language and procedures of a Crime Branch officer.
- The screenplay incorporates elements of classic 'whodunit' murder mysteries, a genre less common in mainstream Tamil cinema which often leans towards action-oriented thrillers.
- A key promotional theme highlighted the film's focus on the investigation process and psychological motives, rather than relying solely on high-octane action sequences.
- The production faced the challenge of filming complex investigative sequences and multiple suspect interactions within the confined spaces of the apartment setting.
