Trivia
- Drishyam 3 marks the third chapter in Jeethu Joseph's decade-long franchise, making it one of the rare Malayalam film series where the same director has helmed every installment.
- Mohanlal's portrayal of Georgekutty across the trilogy spans over a decade of screen time, tracing the same character from a cable TV operator to a man whose survival instincts have reshaped the lives of everyone around him.
- The original Drishyam (2013) was made on a modest budget and became such a cultural phenomenon that the word 'Drishyam' itself entered common usage in Kerala as a shorthand for an airtight alibi.
- Drishyam 2 (2021) was released directly on Amazon Prime Video during the pandemic and drew record viewership within its first weekend, proving that the franchise had an audience hungry for a continuation.
- Jeethu Joseph is known for building suspense through everyday details — mundane objects, casual conversations, and ordinary settings that quietly carry the weight of much darker truths beneath them.
- The Drishyam story has been officially remade in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, making Georgekutty one of the most widely adapted characters in Indian regional cinema history.
- Unlike most thriller sequels that raise the stakes through bigger action, the Drishyam series has always kept its tension psychological — rooted in guilt, memory, and the slow unraveling of a family's constructed version of the truth.
