→Trivia
- The title 'Dose' works on two levels — it refers to a medical dose in the hospital setting, but also hints at a measured, calculated delivery of secrets that unravels throughout the story.
- The film pairs two very different protagonists — a doctor driven by logic and a haunted investigator driven by instinct — a classic odd-couple dynamic that gives Malayalam thrillers much of their tension.
- Hospital-set mystery thrillers are relatively rare in Malayalam cinema, which tends to favour rural or home-bound crime narratives, making 'Dose' a genre entry that stands apart in its clinical urban backdrop.
- Director Abhilash R Nair builds the story around institutional trust — the hospital, a place people go to feel safe, becomes the very source of danger, a device that heightens unease without relying on supernatural elements.
- The phrase 'fight for survival' in the film's premise signals that the conspiracy the doctor uncovers is large enough to silence him, suggesting the film's antagonists are not petty criminals but people with institutional power.
- Malayalam mystery films of the 2020s have increasingly featured medical or forensic settings, influenced by the global success of procedural dramas, and 'Dose' fits squarely into this new wave of evidence-driven storytelling.
- The investigator described as 'haunted' suggests the film gives its second lead a backstory wound — a common but effective technique in Malayalam thrillers to deepen stakes and make the search for truth feel personal, not just professional.
