Storyline
When an ex-girlfriend unexpectedly reappears in their lives, a happy couple finds their carefully built world completely turned upside down. What should have been a simple, random encounter quickly becomes increasingly complicated as old feelings emerge, jealousy creeps in, and deep insecurities take over, forcing them to face difficult questions they never wanted to ask themselves. They must decide whether their love is strong enough to survive this sudden emotional storm or if the shadows of their past might tear them apart.
“One couple, one ex, pure comedy.”

→Trivia
- The title 'Heartin' blends the English word 'heart' with a playful suffix, a naming style popular in modern Tamil romantic comedies targeting younger, urban audiences.
- The ex-girlfriend premise is a well-worn thread in Tamil rom-coms, but the real test for such films is whether the writing makes the 'outsider' character feel like a person rather than a plot device.
- Comedy-romance hybrids in Tamil cinema often depend more on situational chaos than punchlines — misread texts, wrong-room moments, and well-timed arrivals carry much of the humor.
- Fate, or 'vidhi', has long been a driving force in Tamil romantic storytelling, and films built around chance circumstances tap directly into that cultural comfort with destiny as a plot engine.
- Tamil films in this genre frequently generate buzz through their dialogue — sharp, relatable lines from such movies often go viral on social media even before the theatrical release.
- The three-character romantic dynamic — current partner, ex, and the situation that connects them — became a reliable story engine for Tamil filmmakers after a wave of successful mid-budget hits in the 2010s.
- Films mixing comedy and drama in Tamil cinema walk a careful tonal line; audiences in this market expect genuine emotional beats alongside the laughs, making the drama scenes as important as the comic ones.
