Ennachu Full Story Explained (2013)

Ennachu is the story of three close friends living in a small Tamil Nadu town. Karthik, played by Karthik Acharya, is the most responsible of the three. He works a regular job and takes care of his aging parents. Jagan, played by Jagan Balaji, is more carefree and impulsive. Shridhar's character is the quiet one who keeps the group together. They spend their days laughing, drinking tea, and dreaming about a better life.

Everything changes when a young woman moves into the neighborhood. She is beautiful, kind, and catches Karthik's eye immediately. They start spending time together, and soon they fall in love. But the girl is also friendly with Jagan. She smiles at him, talks to him, and treats him like a brother. Jagan misreads her kindness. He starts believing she has feelings for him too.

Jagan confronts Karthik one evening. He accuses Karthik of stealing the girl from him. Karthik tries to explain that she chose him on her own. Jagan does not listen. His jealousy turns into rage. The two friends stop talking to each other. The third friend tries to mediate, but it is too late.

One night, Jagan calls Karthik to an empty plot on the edge of town. He wants to settle things once and for all. The third friend follows them, hoping to stop a fight. But the argument quickly turns physical. Jagan pulls out a knife. Karthik tries to defend himself. In the struggle, the third friend jumps between them. The knife goes into his chest.

He dies on the spot. Karthik and Jagan are terrified. They decide to hide the body and tell no one. They bury him in a shallow grave and swear an oath of silence. But the guilt is unbearable. Karthik cannot eat or sleep. He sees his dead friend's face everywhere. Jagan becomes paranoid and aggressive.

The girl notices the change in both of them. She asks questions. They lie to her, but she does not believe them. She starts investigating on her own. Eventually, she finds evidence of the crime. She confronts Karthik, and he breaks down. He confesses everything.

Karthik goes to the police and tells them the whole truth. Jagan is arrested at his home. Both are charged with murder. The girl testifies in court. The judge sentences them to prison. The film ends with Karthik sitting alone in his cell, looking at a photograph of the three friends. He weeps silently. The friendship that once meant everything is now destroyed forever.
