Venky Babu (also credited as Venkybaboo) is an Indian animator, director, and writer who pioneered Tamil-language animation cinema, heading the Chennai-based studio Mayabimbham Media. He directed, wrote, and served as animation director on Inimey Nangathan (2007), the first Tamil animated feature film, which won the National Film Award for Best Animated Film. Prior to the feature, Mayabimbham produced the Tamil animated TV special Puli Raja for Jaya TV, establishing Venky Babu as a foundational figure in Tamil animation.
