Shankar Ganesh

Shankar Ganesh was a prominent music composer in South Indian cinema during the 1970s and 1980s, primarily known for his work in Telugu and Tamil films. He began his career as an assistant to his elder brother, the legendary composer Shankar–Jaikishan, in Bombay, before establishing himself independently in the South Indian film industry. His career trajectory saw him become one of the most sought-after composers, particularly for his ability to blend traditional Indian classical music with contemporary orchestration and catchy folk rhythms. Ganesh's major contribution lies in composing numerous hit songs that defined the sound of Telugu cinema in that era, working with leading actors like N.T. Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and Krishna. He is especially remembered for his successful collaborations with lyricist Veturi Sundararama Murthy and singers S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, P.
