Jayendra Panchapakesan is a Chennai-based Tamil film director, advertising filmmaker, and co-founder of Qube Cinema Technologies, best known for directing the 2011 bilingual romantic drama 180 starring Siddharth, Priya Anand, and Nithya Menen. He co-founded JS Films with cinematographer P.C. Sriram in 1986, producing over 600 ad films, before pivoting to feature films with the experimental Carnatic concert film Margazhi Raagam (2008). His directorial style blends technology-driven storytelling with emotional depth — 180 was shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu using innovative techniques, and its soundtrack received Filmfare South nominations for Best Lyricist (Karky) and Best Female Playback Singer (Shweta Mohan). He later conceived the nine-film Netflix anthology Navarasa (2021) with Mani Ratnam, which raised ₹17 crores for Tamil film industry workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
