Sravanthi, known professionally as Kaniha (born Divya Venkataraman on July 3, 1982, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu), is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Tamil cinema, with appearances in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She made her screen debut in the 2002 Tamil film Five Star, and debuted in Telugu cinema as 'Sravanthi' in Ottesi Cheputunna (2003), directed by E. Sathi Babu, playing Divya opposite Srikanth. Unusually, she filmed Ottesi Cheputunna during her college winter break while pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree at BITS Pilani, graduating before transitioning to full-time acting under the name Kaniha. She later appeared in notable Tamil productions and won the Tamil Nadu State Award for Educational Excellence in 1999 prior to her acting career.
