Sagar (born Vidyasagar Reddy, March 1, 1952, Nidamarru, Andhra Pradesh) was a Telugu cinema director known for directing action and drama films over a career spanning two decades. He made his directorial debut with Ramasakkanodu (1983), which starred Naresh and Vijaya Shanti and earned him three Nandi Awards. He went on to direct Nakshatra Poratam (1993) and Amma Donga (1995), among other Telugu films including Anveshana (2002) and Charminar (2003). He is also remembered as a mentor who trained prominent directors including Srinu Vaitla, V.V. Vinayak, and G. Nageswara Reddy, and served as President of the Telugu Film Organization before his death in February 2023.
