Jaideep Chopra (born 28 December 1971) is an Indian film director, producer, and writer working in Hindi cinema, primarily known for directing Maazii (2013), a remake of the 2005 Hollywood film A History of Violence. His debut directorial Maazii won Best Independent Movie of 2013 by IBN7 Live and received the Award of Excellence at the Indian Cine Film Festival Los Angeles 2014. Chopra brings a thriller-oriented sensibility to his work, adapting internationally recognized source material for Indian audiences with a focus on crime and drama genres. He subsequently directed films including 2016 The End (2017), Ktina (2021), Sangeen (2021–2022), and UTURN (2023).
