Vishal S. Mahadkar is a Hindi film director born on 30 November 1978 in Pali Hill, Mumbai, primarily known for his work with Vishesh Films (the Bhatt camp). His directorial debut, Blood Money (2012), a crime thriller starring Kunal Kemmu and Amrita Puri about a man drawn into the illegal diamond trade in South Africa, was declared a box office hit in its first week. Mahadkar is known for working within tight production constraints — Blood Money was completed in just 42 shooting days followed by two months of post-production. He followed it with the horror-thriller 3AM (2014), written and directed by him, starring Rannvijay Singh and Anindita Nayar.
