The screenplay for \"Mr. X\" was written by Manu Anand, Divyanka Anand Shankar, and Raam H Puthran, with Manu having previously directed Vishnu Vishal's \"FIR.\"\r\n\r\nAccording to Manu, \"Mr. X\" is an action drama that centers around two characters, portrayed by Arya and Gautham, who team up for a shared goal. The plot follows their decision-making process, leading to a specific situation and how they overcome it. Additionally, Manu mentioned that \"Mr. X\" looks into the emotions of a father-son bond as well.\r\n

Jamshad Cethirakath, known by his stage name Arya, is an Indian film actor, who mainly appears in Tamil films. He made his breakthrough portraying rogue characters in Vishnuvardhan's Arinthum Ariyamalum (2005) and Pattiyal (2006). He later won critical acclaim for playing an Aghori in Bala's Naan Kadavul (2009).
