Prashanth to reprise Akshay Kumar in Special 26 remake

Special 26 is a box office hit heist thriller in Bollywood. Kollywood actor Prashanth’s father and producer Thiagarajan has bought the official remake rights for not only Tamil but also for all South Indian languages including Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

The Tamil remake is expected to run on floors soon and is likely to hit the screens this April. Meanwhile his another comeback movie Saahasam will also be released simultaneously.

The movie will have a popular leading actress to pair with Prashanth. It was Kajal Agarwal who coupled with Akshay Kumar in the Hindi version. Apart from them, the team has yesteryear actresses Simran and Devayani making cameo appearances.

Titled as Irupathiyaaru 26, it also has roped in Sathyaraj, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Thambi Ramiah, Robo Shankar, Devadarshini and many others to do supporting roles. Produced by Thiagarajan, he will also work for screenplay and write dialogues for it. He is also planning to make it a mega budget venture for his son.

The shooting is touted to take place at metropolitan cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. Anirudh will compose tunes and Don Max will take care of editing.
