Venkat Prabhu’s first directorial venture Chennai 600028 released in 2007 has been an enormous hit taken in a simple handycam. Since the success of it, the team has been in the news for making a sequel to it. Recently Venkat Prabhu has reported that the sequel is in the ideation stage.\r\n\r\nThe same team would come together again under the production of S.P.B.Charan. In fact there are news regarding it every now and then but doesn't look like materialising. Still the director is confident that he will definitely make it happen.\r\n\r\nLast month, there were rumours that he will helm another flick to be produced by Gautham Menon’s Ondraga ENtertainments. But looks like there are no developments regarding that one too.\r\n

Venkat Kumar Gangai Amaren  better known by his stage name Venkat Prabhu, is an Indian filmmaker, who has worked as an actor, director and playback singer in the Tamil film industry. After completing his education, he began pursuing an acting career, with his first three ventures, featuring him in a starring role, failing to release, following which he began appearing in character roles. He hogged spotlight for the first time when he turned director with the summer hit Chennai 600028 (2007). He achieved further commercial successes with his subsequent directorials Saroja (2008),Biriyani (2013) and Mankatha (2011). His father Gangai Amaren is a renowned music director.
