Mani Ratnam to co-produce OK Jaanu with Karan Johar

The official remake of Mani Ratnam’s coming of the age film OK Kanmani in Hindi is ready to roll out. It will feature the romantic Aashiqui pair Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor once again to bring back the magic. This movie will be directed by Shaad Ali, the maker who had previously remade Alaipayuthey in Hindi.

Karan Johar had announced to produce this romantic flick under Dharma productions. But now he had collaborated to bankroll it along with Mani Ratnam himself under Madras Talkies banner. The news was heard from Karan Johar who took to Twitter in sharing this. Titled as OK Jaanu, it is ready to hit the floors by this month or April.

Other members of the technical team are retained including A.R.Rahman to compose tunes and P.C.Sreeram for cinematography. The lyrics and the dialogues are going to be penned by the veteran lyricist Gulzar Saab. The producer had also released a new adorable poster of the couple on Feb 29 marking the start of the film’s works.
