SRK’s Raees postponed: Will not clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan

Rahul Dholakia’s directorial Raees starring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan has completed the shooting few days back. Jointly produced by Excel Entertainment & Red Chillies Entertainment, the team had announced long back the release date to be Eid 2016 on July 3.

On the other hand, Salman Khan starrer Sultan is also on the verge of completion with the last schedule running at Haryana. Bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, they had also reported the release date to be this year’s Eid on July 6. With these confirmed news, there were talks running around that both the movies are sure to clash at the box office.

As a turn of events, producer Ritesh Sidhwani had decided to postpone the release of Raees few weeks later to the release of Sultan. Earlier when Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani locked horns, we saw what was the effect done to the former. By not giving a chance to such risks, Raees still has leisure time for the post production works.

At the same time, it should take care to keep away from John Abraham’s Dishoom on July 29 and Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro on August 12 which are all equally big projects. Some date in between these two is likely to be selected by the makers who are now facing tight edge.
