Jyothika Saravanan (née Sadanah) is a Tamil cinema actress who debuted in Hindi with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (1997) before becoming one of the leading stars of Tamil film in the 2000s, known for her roles opposite Suriya in seven films including Kaakha Kaakha (2003) and Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006). She won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress four times — for Perazhagan, Chandramukhi (2005), Mozhi (2007), and 36 Vayadhinile (2015) — and received a Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award for Kushi (2000). Her role as a hearing-impaired woman in Mozhi (2007) is widely regarded as one of the most memorable female performances in Tamil cinema and earned her a National Film Award nomination. After a nine-year hiatus following her 2006 marriage to Suriya, she made a celebrated comeback with 36 Vayadhinile (2015) and has since focused on women-centric films including Naachiyaar (2018) and Ponmagal Vandhal (2020).
