• Dumm Dumm Dumm (2001) was Madhavan's idea. He personally suggested Jyothika to director A. Azhagam Perumal after their hit 'Alaipayuthey' — he wanted a fresh pairing that felt like real young lovers, not a typical hero-heroine setup.
• On the sets of Priyamana Thozhi (2003), Madhavan would deliberately flub his lines in the first take to make Jyothika laugh and loosen up. She later said that broke her nervousness and made their emotional scenes feel natural.
• After Priyamana Thozhi wrapped, Madhavan and Jyothika didn't speak for nearly 15 years. No fallout — just drifted apart. They only reconnected in 2023 when Jyothika called him out of the blue to ask if he'd do Shaitaan with her.
• "I told her, 'If we're doing this after 20 years, we have to play parents, not lovers.' She laughed and said, 'That's exactly why I called you.'" — Madhavan, on signing Shaitaan (2024), in a pre-release interview.
