• They first met on the set of Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal (2014) because the director, Udhayanidhi Stalin, specifically wanted a pair of comedians who could bounce off each other without stepping on each other's lines. Jayaprakash was already a known face, but Mayilsamy was still finding his footing in films — the director paired them deliberately to give Mayilsamy a launchpad.
• In Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva (2017), Jayaprakash played the straight man while Mayilsamy did all the physical comedy. But here's the trick: Jayaprakash would deliberately pause his delivery by half a second to let Mayilsamy's reaction land first. That timing — one holding back so the other could shine — is why their scenes never felt rushed.
• Their double-act in Jithan 2 (2016) was so well-received that the film's producer, who had initially planned a solo hero vehicle, greenlit a spin-off comedy track featuring just the two of them. That spin-off never got made, but it directly led to the producer casting them together again in Adida Melam (2016) — a film built entirely around their pairing.
• Mayilsamy once told a local magazine that during the shoot of Vajram (2015), Jayaprakash would drive him home every single night after pack-up because Mayilsamy didn't own a vehicle yet. They'd stop at the same tea stall near Kodambakkam and discuss the next day's scenes. That ritual lasted through all seven films.
