• Jayaprakash was actually a theatre veteran before films, but Jagan specifically asked for him to play the father role in Vatthikuchi (2013) after seeing him in a stage play. That one call started their three-film run.
• On the set of Vallinam (2014), Jagan would deliberately mess up his lines in the first take just to get a raw, irritated reaction from Jayaprakash — and then use that exact take in the final cut. Jayaprakash later said he never knew which take was the real one.
• During the shoot of Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014), the two would share a single cup of filter coffee every morning before the first scene — a ritual they kept even when the shoot ran late into the night. Neither of them has ever explained why.
• Jagan once told a behind-the-scenes interviewer: 'Jayaprakash doesn't act — he just stands there and the camera gets scared into making him look good.' He was laughing when he said it, but he meant it.
• The father-son dynamic they built in Vatthikuchi (2013) was so convincing that a small-budget director later cast them as a real-life father-son duo in a short film — which then got picked up by a streaming platform. That short doesn't exist without their earlier chemistry.
