• Thambi Ramaiah and G. Marimuthu first shared screen space in Pulivaal (2014) because director J. S. Nandhini specifically wanted two actors who could switch between comedy and menace without missing a beat. She cast them as a pair of corrupt cops — and their back-and-forth became the film's most talked-about subplot.
• In Bairavaa (2017), Marimuthu played the villain while Ramaiah played a comic sidekick — but they flipped the energy on set. Ramaiah would deliberately flub his lines to make Marimuthu laugh, and Marimuthu would then improvise a harsher retort. That real irritation bled into the scenes, giving their confrontations a raw edge.
• During the shoot of Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal (2017), the two shared a room in a budget lodge in Tenkasi for three weeks.
