• They first met on the sets of Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013) when Kalaiyarasan was still a newcomer. Kaali Venkat, already a known face, took him aside after their first scene together and said, 'You're doing it wrong. Let me show you how a real Madras guy talks.' That impromptu coaching session became the foundation of their friendship.
• In Urumeen (2015), Kaali Venkat deliberately slowed down his delivery in every scene with Kalaiyarasan. He told the director that Kalai's natural rhythm was faster and more nervous — so he'd pause, let Kalai rush, then undercut him with a deadpan line.
