• Kaali Venkat was a theatre actor with zero film experience when director Pa. Ranjith cast him in Mundaasupatti (2014). Munish Kanth, already a known face, was the one who convinced Ranjith to give Venkat a shot after they did a workshop together. That film put both of them on the map.
• In Ratsasan (2018), Kaali Venkat played the comic sidekick to Munish Kanth's intense cop. Venkat would deliberately flub his lines in rehearsals to make Munish laugh and loosen up before heavy scenes. Munish later said Venkat's goofing was his 'stress buster' on that dark set.
