• M. S. Narayana was initially hesitant to play the comedic sidekick role in Yemaindi Ee Vela (2010) because he thought the character was too small. Vennila personally called him and said, 'I need your timing to make this work.' He signed the next day.
• On the sets of Seema Tapakai (2011), Vennila would deliberately pause her dialogue delivery mid-sentence to let Narayana jump in with an ad-lib. He never rehearsed his lines — he'd listen to her rhythm and improvise on the spot. That film has the most unscripted laughs of their three.
• After wrapping Dhenikaina Ready (2012), Vennila gifted Narayana a vintage walking stick because he kept complaining about his knees on set. Narayana used that same stick in every public appearance for the next two years.
• The 'phone booth confusion' scene in Seema Tapakai (2011) — where Narayana keeps handing Vennila the wrong end of the receiver — was copied almost shot-for-shot in a 2014 comedy sketch on a popular Telugu TV show. The writer later admitted he 'stole it from those two.'
• Vennila once told a fan magazine: 'Narayana garu doesn't act with you. He listens to your heartbeat and reacts. In Seema Tapakai, I was laughing for real in half the takes — he wouldn't tell me his punchlines beforehand.'
