• Seenu Ramasamy cast Aruldoss in Thenmerku Paruvakaatru (2010) after seeing him in a small role in a TV serial. Aruldoss was so nervous on the first day that he flubbed his lines 12 times. Ramasamy didn't yell — he just handed him a cup of tea and said, 'Take your time.'
• In Neerparavai (2012), Ramasamy deliberately gave Aruldoss no dialogue for the first 20 minutes of his screen time. He wanted the actor's eyes to do all the work. Aruldoss later said that silence was the hardest thing he ever performed.
• During the shoot of Idam Porul Eval (2014), Aruldoss's father passed away. Ramasamy shut down production for a week, drove 300 km to the village for the funeral, and didn't ask a single question about the schedule when he returned.
