• Rekha was initially hesitant to play Preity's mother in Dil Hai Tumhaara — she was only 13 years older. Director Kundan Shah convinced her by saying the role wasn't about age, but about emotional weight.
• In Koi... Mil Gaya, Rekha deliberately softened her usual regal screen presence to let Preity's bubbly energy lead every scene. She later told a journalist: 'I knew the film belonged to her and Hrithik. I just had to be the warm wall they bounced off.'
