• Jaiganesh was already a star when he agreed to act in Samayaburathale Satshi (1985) only because S. Jagadeesan promised him a role that didn't make him the usual 'hero's friend' — he played a man with a split personality, which was rare for a supporting actor then.
• On the sets of Mel Maruvathoor Arpudhangal (1986), Jagadeesan would write dialogue in the morning and Jaiganesh would rewrite it in Tamil slang during lunch. The final scene that audiences remember — the temple argument — was entirely Jaiganesh's improvisation, which Jagadeesan kept in the final cut.
• Kai Koduppal Karpagambal (1988) was the first Tamil film to use a single-song flashback to reveal a character's entire backstory — a technique later copied by at least three mainstream directors in the 1990s. Jagadeesan wrote the song, Jaiganesh insisted it be placed mid-film instead of the climax.
• After Kai Koduppal Karpagambal flopped, Jagadeesan stopped directing for five years. Jaiganesh quietly paid the film's outstanding lab bills from his own pocket and never told the press. Jagadeesan only revealed this in a 2002 interview.
• Jagadeesan once said: 'Jaiganesh didn't just act in my films — he taught me how to write for the common man. Without him, my scripts would have been too literary.'
