• Prabhu Deva was already a dance star when he signed Indhu (1994), but Roja was a newcomer. He personally requested the director to cast her after seeing her audition tape — he felt her energy matched his rhythm.
• On the sets of Raasaiyya (1995), Prabhu Deva would choreograph their romantic scenes on the spot. Roja later said he'd whisper the steps to her mid-shot, and she'd follow his lead without breaking character — that's why their dance sequences feel so seamless.
• During the shoot of Eazhaiyin Sirippil (2000), Prabhu Deva and Roja developed a close friendship. He would drive her home after late-night shoots, and they'd stop for tea at the same roadside stall near Kodambakkam. They lost touch after the film flopped.
