Partnership facts

• For Dharma Seelan (1993), director R. K. Selvamani cast Prabhu first, then specifically asked Napoleon to play the villain. Napoleon was so new that he had only done a handful of films — this pairing basically launched him as a reliable antagonist in Tamil cinema.
• In Maravan (1993), Prabhu played the righteous elder brother and Napoleon the hot-headed younger one. Napoleon later said that Prabhu deliberately slowed down his own dialogue delivery in their confrontation scenes so Napoleon's anger would pop more on screen.
• Napoleon has said in interviews that Prabhu personally drove him to the hospital when he fell sick during the shoot of Suyamvaram (1999). They weren't close before that — the ride turned into a friendship that lasted decades.
• Mitta Miraasu (2001) was the only film where they played brothers with equal screen time — and it directly inspired director K. S. Ravikumar to cast them again as brothers in his later film Muthuramalingam (2017). Ravikumar said he wanted to recreate that 'real brother vibe' after 16 years.
• Napoleon once told a Tamil magazine: 'Prabhu anna never treated me like a co-star. He treated me like his younger brother on set. Even when I messed up a scene, he'd just pat my back and say, "Next one, we'll fix it."'
• After Muthuramalingam (2017), both actors admitted they hadn't spoken for nearly a decade before that film. The director had to call each of them separately and convince them to work together again — they patched up during the first reading itself.
