• Suhasini was already a star when she agreed to do Anand (1987). Charle was a theatre actor making his film debut. She personally asked director R. C. Sakthi to cast Charle after seeing him in a stage play — she felt he had the right 'everyman' energy to match her character.
• In Dharmathin Thalaivan (1988), Suhasini and Charle shot a key confrontation scene in one continuous take. Charle later said she deliberately slowed her dialogue delivery to match his nervous rhythm — she was essentially pacing him through the scene without him knowing.
• After Chinna Kannamma (1993) flopped, Suhasini and Charle didn't speak for nearly a decade. Charle later admitted in a 2005 interview that he felt she blamed him for the film's failure — until they ran into each other at a wedding and she hugged him, saying 'I was just sad the film didn't work, not angry at you.'
• "She treated me like a co-star, not a newcomer. On the sets of Anand, she would rehearse with me in the corner while the lights were being set. That's not something stars do." — Charle, in a 2018 interview with The Hindu.
• The success of Anand (1987) directly led to Charle being cast in his next big break — the 1988 film Sathyaa. Director S. A. Chandrasekhar saw Charle's performance opposite Suhasini and offered him the role without a screen test.
