• Ravinder was a newcomer when he signed Vasantha Azhaippugal (1980). Roopa was already a known face. She personally asked the director to cast him after seeing his screen test — she felt he had the right 'vulnerability' for the romantic lead.
• In Oru Thalai Ragam (1980), Roopa would deliberately flub her lines during rehearsals to make Ravinder laugh. He then had to reset his serious expression for the actual take. That tension — her playfulness vs his controlled intensity — became the film's emotional core.
• Mouna Yuddham (1981) was the first Tamil film to use a single continuous shot for a 12-minute confrontation scene. Ravinder and Roopa rehearsed it for three weeks without any cuts. That scene later inspired a similar technique in a 1990s Mani Ratnam film.
• During the shoot of Vasantha Azhaippugal, Roopa would bring homemade snacks for the entire crew every Friday. Ravinder later admitted he looked forward to those Fridays more than the actual shoot days.
