• Vignesh was a newcomer when he cast Charle in Raman Abdullah (1997). Charle was already a known face in Tamil comedy. Vignesh took a risk by giving him a serious, layered role — and it paid off.
• In Velai (1998), Charle’s comic timing was the only thing that kept the film from being a total washout. Vignesh later admitted he wrote the comedy scenes around Charle’s natural rhythm, not the other way around.
• After Velai bombed, Vignesh and Charle didn’t speak for nearly 20 years. They only reconnected when a mutual friend pushed them to collaborate again for Aattral (2022).
• Charle said in a 2022 interview: 'Vignesh called me after two decades and said, “I need you to play a father who laughs through tears.” I knew he still remembered what I could do.'
• Aattral (2022) was the first Tamil film to feature a fully improvised 12-minute single-take scene between two actors — entirely driven by Charle’s cues and Vignesh’s trust in him to hold the frame.
