• Simran was the one who suggested Soundarya for the female lead in Anthapuram (1999). The director Krishnavamsi had someone else in mind, but Simran insisted Soundarya would bring the right intensity to the role.
• In Anthapuram, Simran and Soundarya played sisters with a raw, combative energy. Simran later said they never rehearsed their fight scenes — they just went at each other, and the camera caught the real friction.
• During the shoot of Annayya (2000), Soundarya would cook biryani for the entire unit on Sundays. Simran always sat next to her while she cooked, and they'd gossip in Tamil — the only time they spoke off-camera.
• Simran once told a magazine: 'Soundarya was the only co-star who could make me cry in a scene without even trying. She just had to look at me a certain way.'
• Their pairing in Seetayya (2003) was so well-received that the director V. V. Vinayak cast them again in a cameo for his next film — but Soundarya passed away before they could shoot it.
