• Pandiraj didn't want to cast Sivakarthikeyan in 'Marina' (2012). He thought the comedian-turned-actor couldn't handle a serious role. Sivakarthikeyan begged for a screen test, did one scene, and Pandiraj changed his mind on the spot.
• On 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' (2013), Pandiraj let Sivakarthikeyan rewrite his own dialogues in real time. The actor would improvise punchlines during takes, and Pandiraj kept the camera rolling. That's why the comedy feels so natural — it was half-scripted, half-live.
