• In Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings (2016), Nithin Sathya played the loud, impulsive friend while Vijay Vasanth played the calm, brooding one. • During the shoot of 90 ML (2019), both actors stayed in the same hotel room in Kodaikanal for three weeks. They reportedly had a rule: no phones after 10 PM. They’d just sit and rehearse the next day’s drunk scenes together, often waking up the crew with their laughter at 2 AM.
• Nithin Sathya once said in an interview: 'Vijay is the only actor I can do a drunk scene with without actually drinking. We just look at each other and start laughing — that’s the scene.' He was referring to 90 ML, where they played alcoholics.
• Their friendship in Thozha (2008) directly inspired the casting of the lead pair in the 2012 film 'Sundarapandian' — the director saw their easy camaraderie and wanted a similar vibe for his hero and sidekick. That film went on to become a cult hit.
• After 90 ML (2019) flopped critically, they didn’t speak for nearly a year. Vijay Vasanth later revealed in a podcast that they had a fight over a script disagreement — Nithin wanted to do a dark comedy, Vijay wanted a family drama. They patched up only in 2021, but haven’t worked together since.
