• Kamal Haasan personally called Pasupathy after seeing his performance in 'Sethu' (1999) and offered him the role of 'Kothala Thevar' in 'Virumaandi' (2004). Pasupathy later said he was so nervous he couldn't speak for the first five minutes of the call.
• In 'Virumaandi', Kamal deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in the courtroom scenes to match Pasupathy's natural, unhurried rhythm. Pasupathy told a magazine that Kamal would whisper 'wait for me' before takes, so their silences would sync.
