• Rajinikanth was already a superstar in Tamil when he entered Hindi films. Pran, the veteran villain, personally vouched for him to producers for 'Andha Kanoon' (1983). That film put Rajini on the Bollywood map.
• In 'Andha Kanoon', Pran played the ruthless villain while Rajinikanth was the angry young hero. Pran deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in their face-off scenes so Rajini's rapid-fire style would pop more. He set the pace to make the newcomer look sharper.
• On the sets of 'Bewafai' (1985), Pran would bring homemade snacks from his kitchen for Rajinikanth every single day. Rajini later said Pran treated him like a son, not a co-star.
• Rajinikanth once said about Pran: 'He taught me how to be a villain without being loud. I learned more from him in three films than from any acting school.'
• Their third film together, 'Insaaf Kaun Karega' (1987), was the first Hindi movie where Rajinikanth played a double role. Pran's character was the moral compass that held the two versions of Rajini together. That film directly inspired the double-role template Rajini later used in his Tamil blockbuster 'Chandramukhi'.
• In 'Bewafai', Pran played a father figure betrayed by his son (Rajinikanth). Pran insisted on shooting the emotional confrontation scene in one continuous take. Rajini later admitted that Pran's raw tears in that scene made him genuinely cry on camera — something he rarely did.
