Madhavi (born Kanaka Vijayalakshmi, 14 September 1962, Hyderabad) is an Indian actress who had a prolific career across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema, appearing in over 300 films from the late 1970s through 1997. She starred in major Tamil hits including Kaakki Sattai (1985) and Thambikku Entha Ooru (1984), appeared opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the Hindi blockbuster Agneepath (1990), and won the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Malayalam) for her work in the industry. A trained Bharatanatyam and folk dance performer who gave over 1,000 dance performances, she brought strong classical dance credentials to her screen roles. Her portrayal of the legendary warrior Unniyarcha in the National Award-winning Malayalam film Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha (1989) remains one of her most acclaimed performances.
