• Kavikkuyil (1977) was Rajinikanth's first film as a lead hero. Sivakumar, already a star, agreed to play a supporting role — a rare move that gave the newcomer a massive launchpad.
• In Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977), Sivakumar played the calm, rational husband while Rajinikanth played the volatile, impulsive lover. The director said he cast them specifically to play off each other's natural energy — Sivakumar's stillness made Rajini's outbursts hit harder.
• Sivakumar personally drove Rajinikanth to the sets of Kavikkuyil every day for the first week. Rajini later said Sivakumar treated him like a younger brother, not a co-star.
