• Their first film together, Hulchul (1995), was a chaotic comedy where Jackie played a conman and Arbaaz played a cop. The director, Milan Luthria, paired them specifically because he wanted two actors who could trade insults without looking like they were acting — and they ended up improvising half their dialogue on set.
• In Bhagam Bhag (2006), Jackie’s loud, street-smart energy forced Arbaaz to play the straight man — but Arbaaz kept undercutting Jackie’s punchlines with deadpan one-liners. The director Priyadarshan said their rhythm worked because Jackie would go big, and Arbaaz would pull it back, creating a push-pull that made the comedy land harder.
• Despite making five films together, Jackie and Arbaaz never once hung out outside work. Arbaaz once told a journalist they were 'professional friends' — they’d show up, do the scene, and leave.
