• Suresh Oberoi and Om Shivpuri first faced off in 'Phir Wohi Raat' (1980) because the director needed a villain who could match Oberoi's intensity without blinking. Shivpuri got the part after the original actor walked out over a payment dispute.
• In 'Dekha Pyar Tumhara' (1985), Oberoi played the romantic lead while Shivpuri played the disapproving father. The tension in their scenes came from a real-life age gap — Shivpuri was only 12 years older than Oberoi, but he deliberately slowed his dialogue delivery to make Oberoi seem impatient and boyish in contrast.
