• For Avvai Shanmughi (1996), director K. S. Ravikumar wanted a comedian for the role of the villainous lawyer. Nassar was already a respected character actor, but Ravikumar specifically asked SPB to dub for Nassar's lines in Telugu. That dubbing session turned into a friendship, and SPB later told Nassar he'd act with him anytime.
• In Avvai Shanmughi, Nassar played the rigid, angry husband while SPB played the comic sidekick. Nassar later said SPB's natural comic timing forced him to underplay his anger — because if both went loud, the scene would collapse. SPB set the rhythm; Nassar followed.
• SPB and Nassar stayed in touch long after the films. When SPB was hospitalized in 2020, Nassar was one of the first actors to visit him. Nassar later said in an interview that SPB would call him just to chat about old film sets, never about work.
• Nassar once said: 'SPB didn't just act with me — he taught me how to breathe in a scene. He'd whisper, 'Slow down, let the silence work.' I never got that from any co-star.'
• Their third film together, Manamantha (2016), was a Telugu remake of the 2013 Marathi hit 'Duniyadari'. But the Tamil version never got made. Instead, SPB and Nassar's scenes in the Telugu original became so popular that a separate Tamil-dubbed cut was released in 2017 — directly because fans wanted to hear their voices together again.
