• Om Puri personally recommended Rati Agnihotri for the role of his wife in 'Chupke Se' (2003). The director, Shona Urvashi, was initially hesitant because Rati had been away from films for years. Om insisted she was the only one who could play the part.
• In 'Dev' (2004), Om Puri and Rati Agnihotri played a married couple whose scenes together were almost entirely improvised. Om would set the emotional tone with a single line, and Rati would respond with silence or a gesture — the director Govind Nihalani let the camera roll without cutting.
• After 'Chupke Se' wrapped, Om Puri and Rati Agnihotri stayed in touch as close friends. Rati later said Om was the only co-star who would call her just to check in, not about work. They last spoke a month before Om passed away in 2017.
