• Imman Annachi and Ramesh Khanna first shared screen space in 'Jeyikkira Kuthira' (2017) because Ramesh Khanna, who wrote the film, specifically wrote the role of a bumbling sidekick with Imman in mind — he had seen Imman's timing in a stage play and told the director, 'If he doesn't do this, I'm not writing the part.'
• In 'Saamy II' (2018), Ramesh Khanna played the straight-laced cop's friend while Imman Annachi played the comic relief — but on set, they swapped roles off-camera: Imman would feed Ramesh improvised punchlines during rehearsals, and Ramesh would then tweak the script to include them. The 'kuthira' running gag in that film came entirely from one such off-script moment.
• During the shoot of 'Pei Mama' (2021), both actors stayed in the same hotel room for 45 days because the budget was tight. They developed a nightly ritual: after pack-up, they'd watch old Tamil comedy films on a laptop and argue over who was the better comedian — Goundamani or Senthil. Imman always picked Goundamani; Ramesh always picked Senthil.
• Ramesh Khanna once said in a 2022 interview: 'Imman is the only actor who can make me laugh so hard I forget my lines. We did a scene in Pei Mama where I had to slap him — I laughed so much we had to reshoot it 14 times.'
