• For Panchathanthiram (2002), director K. S. Ravikumar deliberately paired Urvashi and Simran as two of the three wives in the comedy. He wanted actresses who could match each other's comic timing beat for beat — and both said yes without reading the full script, trusting his word that it would be a laugh riot.
• In Pop Carn (2003), Urvashi and Simran played sisters-in-law who constantly bicker. The trick they used: Urvashi would set the rhythm of the dialogue, and Simran would deliberately speed up her lines to throw her off — making their on-screen fights feel genuinely spontaneous and unpredictable.
• During the shoot of Panchathanthiram, Urvashi and Simran shared a vanity van. They developed a ritual: before every comedy scene, they'd do a quick improv run where they swapped each other's lines — just to see if the joke landed differently. • Simran once said in an interview: 'Urvashi akka doesn't just act with you — she listens to you. In Panchathanthiram, I'd throw in a random line, and she'd catch it mid-air and toss it back. That's why our scenes felt like a tennis match, not a rehearsal.'
• Andhagan (2024) brought them back after 21 years. Neither had planned to act together again — it was Prashanth who suggested the reunion to the director. Urvashi and Simran agreed on one condition: they'd only do the film if they got to share at least one scene where they could improvise, just like the old days.
