• Jai and Anjali first met on the set of Engeyum Eppodhum (2011). The director, M. Saravanan, cast them as strangers who keep crossing paths — and their real-life awkwardness during the first shoot actually made it into the final cut.
• In Engeyum Eppodhum, Jai’s character is a quiet, brooding type. Anjali’s natural energy forced him to loosen up. He later said she made him 'act with his eyes, not his mouth' in their scenes together.
• After Engeyum Eppodhum became a sleeper hit, Jai and Anjali stayed close friends. They even did a photoshoot together for a Tamil magazine in 2012, calling each other 'the co-star who gets my silences'.
• Engeyum Eppodhum’s non-linear storytelling — where Jai and Anjali’s characters keep missing each other — directly inspired the structure of the 2013 film 'Soodhu Kavvum'. The writer admitted he borrowed the 'fate vs. timing' idea from their bus-stop scene.
• Anjali once said in an interview: 'Jai and I don't need to rehearse. We just look at each other and the scene happens. That’s rare.' She said this during the promotions of Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal (2017).
• In Balloon (2017), Jai played a possessive husband. Anjali deliberately underplayed her reactions in every argument scene — she told the director she wanted Jai’s anger to feel louder because she stayed quiet. That trick made their fights the most talked-about part of the film.
