• They first shared screen space in 'Dus' (1997), but the film that actually paired them as leads was 'Auzaar' (1997) — released the same year. Both films bombed, but director R. S. Prasanna later said he cast them together because their contrasting energies (her controlled grace, his raw aggression) created a tension he wanted on screen.
• In 'Phir Milenge' (2004), Salman played a man with HIV, and Shilpa played his ex-girlfriend who returns. The film's most powerful scene — where she breaks down after seeing his wasted body — was shot in one take. Shilpa later said Salman deliberately stayed silent between takes to keep her in the emotional zone.
• During the making of 'Garv: Pride and Honour' (2004), Salman would often drive Shilpa home from late-night shoots in his own car — not because he had to, but because she was scared of driving alone in Mumbai after dark. She mentioned this in a 2005 interview, calling him 'surprisingly protective'.
