• For Vellaikaara Durai (2014), director Ezhil didn't initially plan to pair Vikram Prabhu with M. S. Bhaskar. Bhaskar was cast first as the comic sidekick, and he personally suggested Vikram for the lead after seeing his energy in a test shoot. Vikram got the role because Bhaskar vouched for him.
• In Thuppakki Munai (2018), Bhaskar played a nervous informant while Vikram played a hot-headed cop. Bhaskar deliberately stammered and fumbled his lines in every take, forcing Vikram to slow down and react in real time. Vikram later said Bhaskar's unpredictability made him drop his 'hero' posture and act like a real person.
• Taanakkaran (2022) was the first Tamil film to show the brutal reality of police constable training from a trainee's perspective. The film's raw tone — and its 8.5 rating — directly inspired two smaller-budget police procedural films in 2023 that also used real constables as extras. Both credited Taanakkaran's realism.
• On the sets of all three films, Vikram and Bhaskar shared a single vanity van. Not because of budget — Vikram insisted. He said Bhaskar's stories about working with older actors like Sivaji Ganesan helped him understand screen timing. They'd eat lunch together every single day, even when the unit had separate catering.
