• For Anthapuram (1999), Parthiban was a rising director-actor and Simran was the reigning queen of Tamil cinema. He wrote the role specifically for her after watching her in a small scene in another film — she said yes without even reading the full script.
• On the sets of Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga (2017), Parthiban would deliberately break into spontaneous monologues during takes. Simran learned to hold her reactions just a beat longer — that pause became the film's emotional anchor.
